Niccole Caan Leaves Kens 5 San Antonio

Niccole Caan announced her KENS 5 San Antonio departure where she is an investigative reporter.

Here is a portion of what Caan posted to Facebook:

"My time at KENS is done. I am beginning a new, remote position with a nonprofit where I can continue telling stories of courage & bravery, plus spend more time with Papa Caan.

I lost my mom suddenly & realized time with my dad is limited, no matter how many years he has left (may they be many!) I want to enjoy our relationship while he's in good health. You just can't get that time back.

Three years flew by. It was a privilege to be a consumer advocate for you San Antonio. I leave you in good hands. KENS has many bright, talented journalists who work hard for you daily."

Caan joined KENS 5 as consumer investigative reporter in June 2020 from ABC 7 Amarillo KVII.

Prior to her return to TV news in Amarillo, Caan worked as:

- Traffic reporter for ABC Channel 6 WRTV Indianapolis, Indiana

- Anchor/reporter for WLFI News 18 Lafayette, Indiana

- Reporter/Fill-in anchor for WANE 15 Fort Wayne, Indiana

- News reporter/producer Lakeshore Public Television

- News reporter WCJL 22 Savannah, Georgia

She has a BS and Masters from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and taught English in Japan between her first two television news jobs.
